Meet Sarah Whitelaw, Operations and Marketing Guru

Looking after the operations and marketing for Redmill, I love the fact I can be creative and organised at the same time. From bigger projects across all business units to writing processes and managing projects my time is split between business strategy, marketing campaigns, and even student engagement. I love it all, and like the fact there’s always something to get stuck into, continuously improving our proposition for our clients and students.
I’m a super organised individual, with lots of inter-departmental experience in small to medium sized businesses, understanding how each operate and what’s required to make a business successful. The love of project management started early on and I am no stranger to organising conferences and events up and down the UK, ensuring nothing is missed and all planning elements thought through. I also have a passion for people, technology and processes and how they all work together. After completing my certificate in neuro-linguistic programming, I’ve been able to help individuals and businesses understand and communicate their goals and be able to meet them through robust planning.
I began my time in the financial services sector about 12 years ago, working for a place called Nucleus Financial, a wrap platform company. My role upon leaving Nucleus was Events Manager after working my way up the ladder and then travelled overseas to Sydney, Australia, where I was heading up the People Experience (HR) department for a mortgage lending specialist, managing all aspects of human resources, from delivering people strategies and reporting, learning and development, onboarding, recruitment and payroll. I then decided to work with IFAs again and became Project Manager for the Association of Financial Advisers bringing on new technology and building operational processes for the team there before moving back to Scotland in 2020 with my family.
Outside of work, I enjoy family days, having weekend adventures with my toddler and spending as much time outdoors as possible with friends and family. Oh…and I do love a little spa day to myself 🙂
It’s a privilege to be part of a company where the primary focus is client and student service. The team put so much effort into ensuring our proposition is tailored to client and student needs and always think ahead to ensure we are doing the best we can for all customers. I also love the fact there’s a lot of scope to grow, particularly for myself as the business evolves – it’s all very exciting actually!
